PIXIE CUT IS HOT!

The latest Hollywood trend is chopping those long locks off! With all sultry ladies ditching the long hair extensions for shorter do's we do not see why we should not follow suit. Beyonce shocked the world when she ditched her usually big booming curls for a fresh new short do. Now Pamela Anderson is the next star to chop chop! We love the new look. Other Hollywood beauties that are currently rocking the pixie haircut are Jeniifer hudson and Charlize Theron. As a person who once chopped my full body of locks off, i can attest- there's his  fresh new feeling you get from shorter hair. its a sexy bold statement of confidence. Contemplating the pixie cut? I say go for it!

Here we see Pam before and after and if I may say so myself- she looks much younger now! Go Pammy.

By now most of you may have a slight idea that I am a huge Kardashian follower. I think they are smart business women and of course very stylish. They are after-all the family that brought curves back in vogue. Lots of Kardashian fans are most def excited for Kim who may have eventually after kissing soooooo many frogs found her prince charming (Love Yeezy's Style). Kim as usual took her birthday celebration to Las Vegas as we have witnessed for the past 6 years. She stunned in an all white sexy corset number. Gym is definitely paying off for this exotic beauty. Her honey blonde locks complimented the look flawlessly. It was a double celebration as the event was also she and beau Kanye's engagement party.

Hot Mama Kim stepped out to shut the world up in this figure hugging ensemble. She proved that mommy has not lost her sex appeal.
Yes Kanye she is gorgeous-don't you get used to it? Clearly Not-judging by that smoldering smile! We are jealous.
Talk about refusing to share the spotlight. We already hear Kim's voice 'I'll wear white and you all have to wear black-it's my moment'

We wonder how much this cake cost.
Beautiful, Rich and now engaged- what does this girl not have really?

STYLE CRUSH: This week we are crushing on none other than eccentric Soul/R&B singer Elle Varner. Her music is unique and her style is no different. She is the girl whose quirky style you just cant forget. Bold mash prints and bright neons characterize her wardrobe. She makes dressing look what is ought to be-fun! Here are some of our favourite Elle Varner looks.

This look and sexy yet playful. A burst of colour and sas!

She wore this mash print dress at the 2012 BET Awards. It hugged her ample curves right.

This look screams retro chic- love the big eighties hair

THE SUBJECT OF NUDITY

So as I was waiting patiently this morning for my cab driver to pick me up, I whiled away time watching Kimora House of Fab. I wasn't really following what ever was going on there- my morning madness! What did grasp my attention though was when Kimora's glam squad was trying to convince the model to feature in a nude campaign. The subject of nudity is still not widely accepted and carries a lot of stereotypes and scrutiny. Not just in Africa but the world over. I sat there looking at the model's uncertain expressions and clearly uncomfortable body language and there the editorial team was trying to convince of how tasteful it will be done because their brand does not glorify distasteful nudity and blur blur blur! I recalled in that moment an article I read in a recent copy of my GRAZIA Magaziine where lady gaga revealed that she works in her birthday suit because that is how she cultivates her creative genius. I thought also of how society is so un-accepting of baring too much flesh yet we are still in a quest to advice young girls to love the skin their in and embrace their figures. The fight to achieving a generation that is not consumed by body issues is far from over if society continues to dictate how people should look or present themselves. I went on to read a quote that said 'Take pride in being whoever the F*ck you want to be". It sounded rebellious.
My thoughts then gravitated towards how older women always tag nudity to be unAfrican yet most traditional African attires bare breasts ad buttocks...how unAfrican I asked myself? Well that's hypocrisy-point blank. i love me a good 'ol tasteful nude shot. It carries a message beyond just being naked. It's celebratory, a bold statement of pride and beauty. Here are my all time favorite nudiess!

Anna Wintour Wants Lena Dunham to cover VOGUE

It looks like Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour is opening up to the idea of using unique cover girls, reportedly wanting ‘Girls’ creator, Lena Dunham, to grace the coveted cover of ‘Vogue’.
The world of fashion is infamously known for their “size matters” attitude when it comes to models, especially on magazine covers — but it looks like Vogue is ready to step away from this stereotype! Editor Anna Wintour is pushing hard for Lena Dunham to be featured as a cover girl by organizing a private dinner for the 27-year-old creator and star of HBO’s massive hit show, Girls.
Anna thinks that putting Lena on her cover will attract a fresh, new audience to her magazine, an insider explains to Radar Online. “Anna is trying to seduce Lena into bringing her next-generation audience into the Vogue brand,” the source says. “And she’s willing to violate a lot of Vogue traditions to do it, including putting her on the cover even though she doesn't really conform to the body type that Vogue has featured for most of its history.”

The only other “larger” celebrity to be featured on a Vogue cover was 25-year-old British singer, Adele, who graced the March 2013 ‘Power Issue’ with flowing locks and stunning cat eyes.

Will Lena Dunham Be Covered Up?

Assuming these reports are true and Lena agrees to the cover, the question remains as to how Vogue will handle her photo shoot being that she’s not stick thin — an issue that recent news has shown us baffles fashion magazines to no end.

Elle magazine experienced some serious backlash regarding their choice of attire for plus-size actress Melissa McCarthy, who they featured on their November 2013 cover in an obscenely baggy overcoat. Similarly, Adele’s Vogue cover is a close-up glamour shot of her face and upper torso, showing very little body aside from her seriously sexy cleavage.  Both of these covers have been criticized for presumably trying to hide the ladies’ more womanly figures.

Considering the negative attention Elle just received, it will be interesting to see if Vogue makes a marked change in their approach to Lena.

Whatever happens, Lena definitely broke ground with her quirky, shocking and real Girls, so it wouldn't be surprising if she breaks ground with a Vogue cover as well!

What do you think? Would you like to see Lena Dunham as a Vogue cover girl?

IN KARDASHIAN NEWS: Yesterday's top trending news was Kim Kardashian's engagement to Kanye. Can all the haters take a bow!
According to E! News, the proposal happened on her birthday Monday night in front of friends and family at San Francisco's AT&T Park.
West, 36, popped the question to the mother of his child at the baseball stadium, which he rented out for the occasion, E! News reported early this morning.
The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star turned 33 and the new mom is planning to have a mega bash at Tao nightclub in Las Vegas Friday.
A Look Back at Kim Kardashian's Loves
West, a Grammy-winning rapper, just kicked off his "Yeezus" concert tour and took a break to pop the question to baby North's mom.
"After I lost my mother, there were times I felt like, I would put my life at risk. I felt like sometimes I didn't have something to live for," the singer told Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, in an interview for her talk show, "Kris," Aug. 23. "Now I have two really special people to live for, a whole family to live for. A whole world to live for."
The power couple made a cool $30 million last year, according to Forbes, which ranked them the fifth highest-earning celebrity couple.
This will be not the first wedding for Kardashian, who has been married twice before. Kardashian recently ended a bitter divorce battle with NBA player Kris Humphries.
The two were married for 72 days back in 2011, but their divorce case lasted longer than the two were married. Their marriage finally ended earlier this year.
Kardashian also was married to music producer Damon Thomas, ending in 2004.
Congrats to Kimmy!! with all the smack she got for her pregnancy figure -she deserves the last laugh! We all would be laughing harder if we could boast a $3.3 Million proposal. (Damn some girls are lucky!)

10 WORST SkIN HABITS

Ever wondered what you are doing so wrong that your skin looks so bad?  I may have found the answers for you. Being a person who likes to make informed decisions in as far as my skin is concerned because bad habits have previously damaged it before- I thought to share this great habits sourced from daily glow. Beautiful skin is priceless, take care of yours and ditch these habits:

Expecting One Coat of SPF to Last All Day
Sure, you protect your face with a layer of sunscreen every morning. But do you reapply? "Remember that sunscreen sweats off, rubs off, and melts in your face, even if the label says 'sweat proof' or 'lasts all day,'" says Jessica Wu, M.D., clinical instructor of dermatology at USC Medical Center.

The fix: Don't worry, we don't expect you to wash your face in the middle of the day and reapply sunscreen. An easy fix is to find a powder with SPF that you can use for touch-ups. Try Bare Escentuals BareMinerals SPF 30 Natural Sunscreen ($28). While it's ideal to reapply liquid sunscreen, powder formulas will give you some extra protection, Dr. Wu says. And don't think that if you have an indoor job you're immune. Dr. Wu says you can get sun damage just from driving, sitting near a window, or walking across the street.

Squeezing Every Last Drop Out of Your Makeup
Makeup can be expensive, and it's tempting to hang onto it until every last bit is gone. "We all have that tube of lip gloss or mascara that we just can't bear to toss out — but it might make it easier to discard if you think about what could be breeding in there and then getting into your mouth or eyes," says Dr. Wu.

The fix: Dr. Wu recommends going through your makeup drawer or bag each season, just like you go through your closet, and tossing any eye or lip products you haven't used within the last three months. If you need help remembering when you've opened a new product, keep a marker handy and write the date right on the package.

Forgetting the Skin Below Your Chin
"Many of us pay a lot of attention to our faces, but our poor necks and chests get neglected," says Dr. Wu. The skin is thinner on your décolletage — the skin stretching from under your chin to your cleavage — than the skin on your face, and yet often it gets just as much sun exposure. Ignore these areas and you'll likely see sun damage showing up as blotchy skin, broken capillaries, and scaly patches.

The fix: Treat your neck and chest with the same care you show your face. That means anything you put on your face — moisturizer, sunscreen, or antiaging products — you should apply to your neck and chest as well. Just add a few more drops than you normally use to cover these neglected yet vulnerable areas

Going to Sleep without Washing Your Face
It's easy at the end of the day to fall into bed, exhausted. But think of what your face goes through in a day. "Makeup, oils, dirt, and pollution all collect on your skin during the course of the day. Do you really want all that gunk to get all over your pillowcase and rub into your eyes? Plus, you can end up with clogged pores and breakouts," says Dr. Wu.

The fix: Ideally, washing your face should be just as much a part of your before-bed routine as brushing your teeth. But even if you're just too exhausted, don't skip the cleanup routine altogether. Dr. Wu recommends keeping inexpensive makeup-removing wipes handy. Try Yes to Blueberries Brightening Towelettes ($7.99). "Use them to take the day off, even on those nights when you just want to fall into bed," she says. Your pores — and your pillowcases — will thank you. Or change your routine entirely and wash after dinner, when you're less likely to be too tired to forget.

Being Too Hands-on with Your Face
Rubbing your eyes, scratching your nose, pushing your hair behind your ear — you probably don't realize how many times a day you touch your face. But every time you do, you transfer germs and dirt from your hands to your face. "Think of all the surfaces you touch in a day — doorknobs, elevator buttons, ATMs, other people — do you want those germs to get into your eyes and nose?" says Dr. Wu. Plus, every time you touch your face, you risk rubbing off your makeup and sunscreen.

The fix: Dr. Wu says, "Don't be a raccoon girl — keep your hands off your face!" Pay attention. Once you notice how often you're touching your face, you can start keeping your fingers away. If you're touching it absentmindedly, at least try to keep your hands superclean and use antibacterial gels so you'll minimize the number of germs you're transferring to your face.

Having a Sweet Tooth
Sugar is one of the worst foods for your skin. High blood sugar can cause changes to the collagen and other tissues in your skin, making it weaker and more prone to wrinkling. "High blood sugar can also predispose you to getting skin yeast infections, including rashes under your breasts, in your groin, and even on your face," Dr. Wu says.

The fix: Avoid foods with added sugar, such as soda, candy, and cookies, and steer clear of foods that break down quickly into sugar, including white bread, white rice, and pasta. Instead, limit the baked goods in your diet, and choose whole-grain bread, crackers, and cereal, and brown rice. "These complex carbohydrates will help keep your blood sugar steady — and probably help you slim down as well," says Dr. Wu.

Doing DIY Facials
It's tempting to squeeze a pimple or chip away at the edge of a scab. But you have to learn self-control when it comes to your skin. "If you pick off a scab or squeeze a pimple until it bleeds, you're injuring the skin, which can lead to scarring," says Dr. Wu.

The fix: Leave scabs and pimples to heal on their own. Cover pimples with makeup if they're unsightly. For a scab that's not on your face, if you can't keep from picking at it, protect it from your attacks with a bandage. If you can't help touching a scab or pimple, find a mirror and use a clean tissue or Q-tip to tackle the trouble spot. And if you do find yourself squeezing blackheads or pimples, be gentle. Squeezing hard enough to draw blood may leave a scar.

Avoiding the Dermatologist
Dr. Wu recommends an annual exam for everyone, to look for moles, growths, or rashes that could signal a potential problem. Checking your skin yourself is crucial, too, but a trained professional may notice a trouble spot that you might overlook or consider unimportant. In most cases, catching a problem early means it will be easier to fix. Dr. Wu points out that annual exams are particularly important for people who live alone, since it's hard to check your scalp and back yourself.

The fix: It's an easy one. Call your dermatologist today and schedule an appointment. Don't have a dermatologist? Ask your primary care physician for a recommendation. An easy way to remember your annual exam is to schedule it near your birthday. Go to the American Academy of Dermatology to find a dermatologist near you.

Smoking
Smoking ages your skin prematurely, just as spending a lot of time in the sun does. Dr. Wu says that depending on how much you smoke, the habit can add 10 years or more to your appearance. How? "Smoking reduces circulation to your skin, making it sallow instead of rosy and glowing," she says. The free radicals in cigarette smoke attack the collagen and elastic tissue in your skin, making your skin thinner, weaker, and more prone to wrinkling. Smoking also makes the wrinkles around your mouth and eyes start earlier and deepen sooner.

The fix: Quit. Sure, it's not easy. If it were, you would have done it a long time ago. Still, no matter how long you've been smoking, you'll see benefits once you stop. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, medication plus support from friends, family, and doctors works best. For tips on quitting, visit the American Heart Association

Dehydrating Your Skin
"Most people have dryness somewhere on their faces, like around the eyes," Dr. Wu says. The signs of moisture-starved skin include tightness, flakiness, rough patches, and itchiness — even oily skin can suffer from dehydration. The incentive to douse your skin: When it's hydrated, it's less likely to suffer from irritation and can better defend itself.

The fix: "Don't feel like you have to moisturize your entire face," Dr. Wu says. "If your skin is very oily, you may only need moisture in a few areas." She advises looking for a serum or oil-free lotion to avoid clogged pores. And if your skin is very dry, look for a heavier cream. If you're not sure what to use, look for a noncomedogenic, fragrance-free formula.

THE POSH FASHION DIARY
Now there are a few fundamental things that characterize my personal style-class, elegance and understated glamour. If I may say so myself, I am a lady in the manner that I dress, that is why you will never in a million years find me rocking arm candy or anything of a flashy nature. I prefer simplicity-it is glamorous. It neglects to try too hard yet fail epically.
I find a common mistake most people tend to make when dressing up is to pile on in one outfit a number of seasonal trends, which results in looking much like a hot mess.
The art of dressing is not much too difficult but again it’s something that is not common to all.
As I looked through my wardrobe which I can proudly proclaim to be a capsule one, I came across our traditional attire (I have a collection-proudly Swazi). What I have always thought about our regalia is that it is couture at best. This may do much with fact that I am a Dlamini- bragging rights to my heritage are as natural as they are imperative. If at I would leave Swaziland, I would imagine myself being the girl that would wear Emahiya when I am missing home- to the grocery shop, class, church or anywhere else for that matter. Embrace your heritage!

Proudly Swazi

STYLE TIP: With many fashion trends looming in the scene, everyone desires to keep up with the latest but not every trend is meant for you. True style comes from the ability to pick and choose what suits you well, otherwise we would start resembling store manikins!
A common fashion faux par that is made by individuals is to pile on all of the seasonal trends into one outfit. In most cases they wind up looking like a mess, sticking out terribly like sore thumbs. I always emphasize that if you are not clued up on how to mix and match fashion items and trendy accessories, simplicity is key.
Find timeless pieces that you can wear season after season. Also make sure your closet comprises of items that can be worn with variety. Sometimes you don’t realize how much you do not need to go shopping because your very own closet could be packed with endless possibilities. Now make it a promise to yourself to empty that closet and try interchanging items to figure out new ways to wear them-you’ll be amazed how much you will get that ‘retail therapy’ feeling having not spent a dime!
One thing that is often times overlooked is how much an accessory is an essential component that has the ability to redefine your look time and time again. If at all you are to invest in fashion items, make sure you get as many accessories and statement pieces as possible- you would be amazed how they will unveil to you how versatile your wardrobe can be. One writer once said that if her clothes fail to express her creativity, her shoes do the better job. If her dress is too dull to express how excited she is, her clutch does the talking- they you go accessories are essential!

A perfect Capsule Wardrobe helps you reinvent your style.

FASHION IS AN EXPRESSION:
From what you wear and how well or awfully it hangs on your body, people have already judged you and placed you in a bracket. Kourtney Kardashian once said in an interview with U.S reporter Lee Hawkins ‘The way you decorate your house defines you, the laundry you wear defines you’ so whether you are aware or oblivious to that glaring reality you are most certainly judged by your appearance.

Presentation has the power to speak on your behalf. If you at all feel that much significant in whatever image you’d like to portray, look it so it is at least comprehensible because telling us what we don’t see won’t do you much justice. Make it a point from now on, that when you step out, the way you look speaks volumes on your behalf.

STYLE CRUSH: Kerry Washington
Graceful and Timeless are the two words that come into mind when I think about Kerry. She has that classic, timeless appeal as not only an actress but a fashionista. This Hollywood rule breaker will be gracing our screens for years to come. While many may perceive her image to be boring and uninspired, she does have that Je Ne Sais Quoi! that sets her apart from the rest of superficial Hollywood. We are fans of her red carpet ensembles and here we feature some of her best looks yet.

If I didn't know better I would nominate this woman as first lady Michelle's stylist. And I will leave it there!

This is a classic example of how to take a runway look and own it. Kerry gives this J Mendel floral number a signature pop with fuchsia lipstick which is huge this season.

This look may be theatric and over the top but Kerry's grace is befitting. The dress is a design by Giles Pegasus

We bow down to this one too Jamie. Kerry was a sixties pin up vision in this cream number at the Django premiere

She stunned again at the 44th NAACP Awards in this pink and mint whimsical number by Marchesa. Tell me if this woman can do any wrong?

She show cased her playful and sexier side in this red leather Michael Kors dazzling dress.

No words- simple and breath taking!

At the movie awards Kerry again took this look off the ramp and gave it a tasteful finish with an updo and very minimal accesories.

HAIR FEATURE sourced from Ted Hair a leading international wholesaler that sells premium quality hair extensions which include Peruvian, Brazilian, Malaysian, Indian and other top quality brands. This hair can be ordered in bulk for resale or personal use and is also affordable. Here, they differentiate for their customers Remy vs. Virgin hair extensions:
Virgin Brazilian Hair

Is there any Difference between Remy and Virgin Human Hair?

Yes, while “Remy” hair mixes well with natural ethnic hair types, and is thought to be number one. Remy is chemically treated and processed which robs the cuticles of it’s the natural body and shine, limiting performance and longevity. "Remy" simply refers to the cuticle layer of hair being smooth and straight in single direction."Remy" refers to the cuticle layer of hair being smooth and straight in single direction. Skin is inner layer of a pattern of hair. These are an important factor taken in to consideration while buying hair extension. Whole, plane cuticles indicate light which gives the hair its shining appearance.
"Virgin" hair which also mixes well with natural ethnic hair types, is never bleached, texturized or chemically treated in anyway. Virgin hair is the advanced quality hair because it is Natural like the hair growing out of our own heads. It is important to note that just because hair is said to be "Remy" doesn't mean that it is Authentic and all Natural. Virgin Human Hair is certainly Naturally Authentic.
Virgin Indian Hair

How to manage Weave Hair Extensions:

Brazilian hair weaving is an effective way to change your look and protect your natural hair. Hair weaves need care and maintenance for best performance and longevity:
• Comb hair using a wide-tooth comb. Start at the end moving upward toward the wefted base. Wash hair using warm water and shampoo with products that do not contain silicone, alcohol, or peroxide.
• Do not use rough (harsh) products for washing, styling, or conditioning hair.
• Do not use products with alcohol base for shining hair.

• Use silk or satin scarf to wrap hair at bedtime.

PHARELL TIES THE KNOT IN STYLE?

While I was still trying to stomach that my chances with Pharell have gone from 100 to Zilch, I was taken aback by the quirky rockstar and his brides wedding outfits. I totally loved his check suit. It looked like something that could pass as timeless if he looked at his wedding pics 30 years from now.
I wasnt in full comprehension of Helen's dress.
See this and have your say:

LOOK OF THE DAY:

I have been following Riri's Diamonds tour outfits and while I am no fan of that (for lack of a better definition) track suit she wore in Johannesburg, this custom Givenchy design by Riccardo Tisci still stands out as one of the best she has worn during her world tour.  So getting myself those high waist leather shorts-Hot!

PRODUCTS WE LOVE:
Being the girly girl I am, I live and breathe for product. While I am a firm believer in finding that brand that works perfectly for you and sticking to it, I do though explore a lot more with my fragrances and lipsticks because they express my mood and embrace different seasons . Currently I have a crush on M.A.C Candy Yum Yum. Its matte finish is flawless and leaves you with what I call 'the cherry lip' finish! You know that luscious look-We love Candy Yum Yum!
This is how the original M.A.C Candy Yum Yum look like so do not fall for those cheaper options-they aren't so Yummy!

It looks oh so Yum on both dark and fair skin.

So I enjoy sampling fragrances and these two were my top choices. They are soft long lasting and definitely do not have an overpowering sweet flowery scent. They are great gift options. My personal favourite is Estee Lauder's Modern Muse but couldn't resist AVON's Instinct too. The scents can be interchanged-the latter being a cheaper option you can use daily.
For those special occasions

For daily use
