Our first style crush is none other that Solange Knowles; the woman who has made ethnic print look chic and stylish. I have to admit that before the Sol-Angel popularized ethnic prints, I had personally paid no attention to how beautiful African fabrics are.
Worth noting again is that ever since Beyonce's lil sis found a style of her own she has managed to escape being the shadow of the almighty King Bey! And isnt she just blossoming?
Being an African, myself, I have been definitely taking notes from this trend setter's style book.
I used to think an African wearing what was dubbed an 'African Attire' back then was plain old tacky. I learnt though that with consciousness to design, fit and silhouette, that tacky can look ultra chic.
Now all fashionistas can embrace their heritage. All Thanks to Solange for digging deep into her African roots!
This is a typical fabric I swear to have seen on plenty 'Africa Attires' yet here Solange makes it look like a million bucks!
The ethnic print bubble dress should be every petite girls must have this summer.
Although she could have toned the busy down with plain colored shoes and a clutch, this suit screams 'I'm here and whether or not you want to see, you will!'
Effortlessly chic
African Queen: Now this is what I call gorgeous! From the cut to the fabric, to the hair and the understated accessories, this outfit was a definite hit.
