THE POSH
FASHION DIARY
Now there are a few fundamental things that
characterize my personal style-class, elegance and understated glamour. If I
may say so myself, I am a lady in the manner that I dress, that is why you will
never in a million years find me rocking arm candy or anything of a flashy
nature. I prefer simplicity-it is glamorous. It neglects to try too hard yet
fail epically.
I find a common mistake most people tend to
make when dressing up is to pile on in one outfit a number of seasonal trends,
which results in looking much like a hot mess.
The art of dressing is not much too
difficult but again it’s something that is not common to all.
As I looked through my wardrobe which I can
proudly proclaim to be a capsule one, I came across our traditional attire (I have a collection-proudly Swazi). What
I have always thought about our regalia is that it is couture at best. This may
do much with fact that I am a Dlamini- bragging rights to my heritage are as
natural as they are imperative. If at I would leave Swaziland, I would imagine
myself being the girl that would wear Emahiya
when I am missing home- to the grocery shop, class, church or anywhere else for
that matter. Embrace your heritage!

STYLE
TIP: With many fashion trends looming in the scene,
everyone desires to keep up with the latest but not every trend is meant for
you. True style comes from the ability to pick and choose what suits you well,
otherwise we would start resembling store manikins!
A common fashion faux par that is made by individuals
is to pile on all of the seasonal trends into one outfit. In most cases they
wind up looking like a mess, sticking out terribly like sore thumbs. I always
emphasize that if you are not clued up on how to mix and match fashion items
and trendy accessories, simplicity is key.
Find timeless pieces that you can wear
season after season. Also make sure your closet comprises of items that can be
worn with variety. Sometimes you don’t realize how much you do not need to go
shopping because your very own closet could be packed with endless
possibilities. Now make it a promise to yourself to empty that closet and try
interchanging items to figure out new ways to wear them-you’ll be amazed how
much you will get that ‘retail therapy’ feeling having not spent a dime!
One thing that is often times overlooked is
how much an accessory is an essential component that has the ability to
redefine your look time and time again. If at all you are to invest in fashion
items, make sure you get as many accessories and statement pieces as possible-
you would be amazed how they will unveil to you how versatile your wardrobe can
be. One writer once said that if her clothes fail to express her creativity,
her shoes do the better job. If her dress is too dull to express how excited
she is, her clutch does the talking- they you go accessories are essential!
A perfect Capsule Wardrobe helps you reinvent your style.
FASHION
IS AN EXPRESSION:
From what you wear and how well or awfully
it hangs on your body, people have already judged you and placed you in a
bracket. Kourtney Kardashian once said in an interview with U.S reporter Lee
Hawkins ‘The way you decorate your house defines you, the laundry you wear
defines you’ so whether you are aware or oblivious to that glaring reality you
are most certainly judged by your appearance.
Presentation has the power to speak on your
behalf. If you at all feel that much significant in whatever image you’d like
to portray, look it so it is at least comprehensible because telling us what we
don’t see won’t do you much justice. Make it a point from now on, that when you
step out, the way you look speaks volumes on your behalf.
